Everyone has a story that brings them to where they are today. My work as a coach is enriched by the range and depth of my academic and professional experience. I am a Fulbright scholar and published author, with a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from New York University. Rather than continue a career in academia, I took a road less travelled and worked in UK and US corporate life, including key strategic roles with Amazon and Penguin, where I worked with thought-leaders from the worlds of psychology, neuroscience, behavioural science and culture. In working with me, you'll be accessing my knowledge and expertise, as well as empathy with your professional success and struggles.
As a creative leader, I launched a respected independent publishing house and one of the most valuable international essay competitions in the world, combining my love of sharing ideas with expanding the possibilities of business. I bring a real appreciation for purposeful start-up energy to my work with those clients leading projects, companies, shifting the public conversation and making a difference. I was also a curator, producer and speaker coach for TEDx, so I know how to help people connect with others to influence positive change.
As Head of Learning at The School of Life, a global organisation helping people to lead more fulfilled lives, I created new self-development classes and experiences, and I continue to be a faculty member there, leading workshops with world-leading brands and organisations.
I also lead several sell-out Guardian Masterclasses on How to Change Your Life, How to Tackle Your Inner Critic and Imposter Syndrome, How to Find Self-Direction and How to Make Difficult Decisions.
In my practice as a private and executive coach, I work with established and emerging leaders from corporate C-suite and entrepreneurial founders, to creative and agency directors, across technology, science, the arts, culture, journalism, media and communications, politics, government and NGOs, finance, legal and medical, education and academia. In short, I make an impact on people who want to make an impact.
As a facilitator, I design and lead powerful workshops, corporate trainings and development programmes, as well as lead in-house executive development programmes in areas such as self-awareness, self-leadership and impact, building and leading teams, influencing, engaging and motivating, creating and innovating, resilience, sustainability and legacy, linking purpose to vision to strategy so people can take action in the world.
Media experience includes the Guardian, the Independent and the BBC.
